Hi, I’m Issurah King, the founder of Ikaika Wellness, LLC.
I bring over 10 years of experience in healthcare and more than 3 years as a certified health coach. I earned my B.S. in Applied Health Science from Wheaton College and completed post-baccalaureate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. I’m also certified in Precision Nutrition Level 1, Girls Gone Strong, and the NBHWC-approved Open Source Wellness “Community as Medicine” program. I’m constantly expanding my knowledge to provide the best possible experience for my clients.
My journey into coaching began during my time as a case manager, where I used motivational interviewing to support people through difficult life changes. Later, while coaching clients on weight loss and glucose control at a clinic, I began applying the same strategies to my own life—and I achieved sustainable weight loss for the first time. What started as a part-time job quickly turned into a full-time passion.
I created Ikaika Wellness after personally experiencing burnout and feeling dismissed & shamed by professionals in the fitness and wellness space. As a single, working mother, I had to navigate what was feasible for me. Now, I support others in creating space in their lives that is grounded in empathy, empowerment, and true self-care.
My coaching is rooted in behavioral science, positive psychology, and mindful habit change. I believe that every woman already has the power within her to transform her life—I’m simply here to walk alongside you on that journey.
Outside of coaching, I love exploring nature trails, relaxing by the beach, and diving into a good book. I’m also a proud mom to an amazing child who inspires me every day. My mission is simple: to make a meaningful, lasting impact in the lives of the people I serve—one empowered decision at a time.
